Jensen's first vegetable

Jensen tried his first veggie tonight...avacado! Here's a nice sequence of pictures that helps tell the story...

The anticipation is killing him! He's ready for that spoon!
He gets a spoonful and he's really not too sure about what was on that spoon???
He takes another bite, but still isn't so sure about that crazy taste!

Despite those interesting faces, he opens up his mouth and is ready for another taste!

In the end, we decided to mix the avacado with his cereal.
We still got a few funny looks, but we've concluded Jensen just likes to eat:)

We will continue with the avacado for a few more days. I think we'll give sweet peas a try next! More funny pictures to come, I'm sure!

Just some fun around the house!

Here are a few pictures and a video from the last week or two. I'm loving the few days a week that I get to be home with Jensen! He's full of smiles and giggles and continues to enjoy time on his playmat, in his jumperoo and rolling around on the floor.

What a character!
Jensen loves his puppy, Bailey!

Chillin in his swing!

Jensen's 5 month birthday!

Jensen is 5 months old....and wearing 9 month clothes! Something tells me he's following in his daddy's footsteps!
He's on a pretty regular schedule these days - Going to bed around 8:00-8:30 and sleeping until 6:30-7:00. He continues to sleep well at night and wake up chatting in the crib. He's still not a napper - We're lucky if they last longer than 40 minutes! He's going to school 3 days a week and absolutely LOVING it! He enjoys watching the other kids and participating in the little activities. We've been extremely happy with our choice and feel like it's been great socialization for him!

The day of FIRSTS!

Wow, what an exciting day for Jensen! He had cereal in a high chair for the first time this morning! The cereal must have provided the energy that he needed because just a few short hours later, Jensen rolled all the way over!

Molly is a half ironWOMAN!!

We just returned from a fabulous few days in Denver and Boulder! Jensen took his first plane ride to cheer on Aunt Molly in her first half ironman....1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run....otherwise known as the 70.3!
Molly signed up with Team In Training last winter and has been training vigorously since. In addition to training, Molly also fundraised close to $3000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The night before the event, we attended a TNT pasta party, where we met her teammates that together raised $28,000 to fund research and patient aid!
The event morning started when Molly woke up at 4:30am and was on location by 5:30am. Molly was in the 10th wave and began the swim at 7:15am. We had it all timed out pretty well because we were able to see Molly during all of her transitions. Such an amazing accomplishment and we're all so proud of her! She KICKED BUTT!
After the event, we enjoyed a nice swim in the pool - and Molly "enjoyed" a contrast bath as she hopped back and forth from the "refreshing" pool to the hot tub! We sat poolside, ate some delicious pizza and visited with some of the Beagle family who had come over to congratulate Molly!
The next day we honored Molly's request to get a pedicure...wasn't hard to convince mom and I to join her:) Then we all packed up and headed to the Rockies vs. Cubs game....Jensen's first baseball game! The view from Coors Field is breathtaking...I would dare to say not too many other stadiums in the country have a better view! Cold beers, great hot dogs, Jensen smiling in the Bjorn and the Rockies stomped the Cubs - it was a a great night!
Jensen did awesome on the plane ride from Atlanta to Denver. It worked out quite well because my parents flew from Buffalo and had a layover in Atlanta so we were all on the same flight together. The ride home was a little more of a challenge! Jensen decided to throw an absolute fit in the security line at the Denver airport. One of those moments you'd like to dig yourself a hole and climb right in!
All in all, we had a WONDERFUL trip! Thanks to Aunt Molly and Uncle Josh for being such gracious hosts and a HUGE CONGRATS to Molly for such an UNBELIEVABLE accomplishment!
After the event...Doesn't Molly look great after completing 70.3 miles???

J-man's first baseball game!

Jensen's first trip to the zoo!

Jensen and I met my SIU friends, Sarah and Lindsay in Nashville this weekend. Sarah brought her son, Ben (Sarah is expecting her second, a baby girl in November) and Lindsay brought her older daughter, Miah. We had a great visit with them!

Jensen took his first trip to the Nashville Zoo and loved being entertained and held by his new friends! We were so happy to have this time with good, old friends!

Joe started football practice on Saturday. Hoping for another successful season - and excited to bring Jensen to all daddy's football games!
