Long Overdue...

I know I've said this before...I've promised I won't go a month without an update and unfortunately, it's going on two months since I've done an update! Oh my, life is crazy!! So here we go, I'll try to do a "quick" summary of life over the past few months....

The kids really got into Halloween this year, especially Jensen! And Jensen's excitement rubbed off on Keaton! She liked to tell everyone that Jensen was a tiger and she was a "buttafly!" We hosted the 3rd Annual Halloween Party (location changed to our house this year). The kids had fun running around and playing in their costumes! Halloween was on a Wednesday so the kids were at school and wore their costumes. Behind the school is a senior living home so all the kids parade over in their costumes to visit and show off how cute they look. When I picked Jensen up that day, he told me he had been trick or treating at the grandparents house! We went to the neighborhood Halloween pizza party and then walked around with the Glass family. Jensen and Addy were totally into trick or treating and running to each door to see what they'd get!

Fall is our favorite time of year around the Gerda household so we spent lots of time outside playing in the leaves, visiting pumpkin patches and going to Hillgrove football games. We took the kids to Berry Patch Farms where we took a hayride out to the pumpkins and Jensen had a pony ride. We also enjoyed a picnic with homemade ice cream and fried pies. We always buy our pumpkin at Jensen's preschool and the kids have fun running around checking out the real big pumpkins and the tiny little pumpkins!

Hillgrove made it to the first round of playoffs this year. The kids went to a few games this year to cheer on the Hawks! For the first football season since having kids, I actually felt like I survived without totally losing it! I'm not sure if it's that I've just adjusted to the schedule or that the kids are getting older and more independent, but this football season just seemed to flow a little better.
