Happy Halloween!

Jensen celebrated his 2nd Halloween today! We had an absolutely wonderful day full of activity....Actually, we had a very busy weekend! On Friday night, we went to Joe's last home football game. Another victory on the books, defeating KMHS 34-7. Their record is now 7-2. Jensen sat on my lap and cheered for almost the entire first quarter. Every time ANYTHING would happen on the field, he'd point and say football! For the second quarter, I chased him as he ran up and down the stadium ramp and under the bleachers. I was exhausted by the end of the night.

On Saturday, we went to a friend's house for a Halloween party. We all got the kids dressed up and let them play all night in their costumes! Surprisingly, they were all happy doing so!! It was fun to get all the kids together and great to have a little adult time at the party as well!

This morning we took a family outing to Cagle's Family Farm. Jensen ran through the corn maize and played on the giant pillow-jumpy thing. It was a beautiful morning and we nearly had the place to ourselves for the first hour or so. He must have been exhausted from all the activity because we had to wake him up after a 3 1/2 hour nap to get dressed for the Halloween festivities tonight. We went to the neighborhood pizza party and then put all the kiddos into wagons and let them trick or treat through the neighborhood. Jensen didn't totally understand the concept. He had more fun running through yards, seeing the dogs at each house and walking in to people's homes. There were a few times he wanted to make sure that each kid got candy. He'd take candy from the bowl and then put it into another kid's basket. And a few times he took something out of his basket to "trade" for the candy the new person was about to give him! It was so cute!

Tonight is Jensen's last night sleeping in the nursery. His big boy room is ready and we'll put him in there for the first time tomorrow night. I was sad tonight when I put him to sleep and spent a little extra time with him, rocking in the chair, reading books, saying prayers and pointing to our eyes, nose and mouth. It's hard to believe we're approaching the next phase of our lives by moving him to another room and welcoming baby #2! It feels as though we were just getting the nursery ready for Jensen and now there's just 8 more weeks until our due date!

A very busy and fun weekend has come to an end. Back to work and school for everyone tomorrow!

Trunk or Treat!

Here's a sneak peak of Jensen's Halloween costume...He's so dang cute as Mickey Mouse! We took him to a Trunk or Treat tonight at a local church. Although he didn't understand the concept of holding his little pumpkin and saying Trick or Treat, he LOVED it! He enjoyed watching the other kids run from room to room, playing with the alphabet carpets and just watching all the action! Happy (early) Halloween!

Fall visit to Colorado

Jensen had his last FREE flight last weekend...At least, I don't anticipate us flying anywhere again before March, especially with a newborn! With Jensen being so active and wanting to constantly move, the thought of flying with two children could very well send me into a panic attack!

Grandma Swanee, Jensen & I met up with Grandpa Swanee at the Atlanta airport and all boarded a flight to Denver to visit Molly & Josh. We had the BEST time! The weather was absolutely perfect throughout the entire weekend. We went to Anderson Farms, which was the perfect fall adventure for Jensen....a petting zoo, hay maze, corn maze, hay ride to animals and a pumpkin patch....all with a beautiful backdrop of the Rocky Mountains! Gorgeous!

We had a fun-filled weekend - attended a fundraising breakfast for a friend's place of employment, Molly and I got away for a pedicure, visited with Jon & Cathy, went out to eat, played frisbee golf and just enjoyed the family time together.

Jensen never truly adjusted to the time change. It was so cute...the first night we got to Molly & Josh's house, he kept walking around the house saying, "night night." I didn't really think he was ready for bed, but he just kept saying it. I put his pj's on and he still continued to say it. So I decided to lay him down and he went right down! He was asking to go to bed the entire time...it was hilarious...and definitely a first! However, he woke up every morning just before 6am!

Jensen enjoyed his visit with the family...By the time the weekend was over, he knew everyone's name and was able to point to everyone. He would say names when prompted and he called Riley, Bailey all weekend! How great that he thinks we can just take Bailey with us everywhere we go:)

The weekend sadly came to an end. We won't see Molly & Josh again until 2011 since they won't be traveling east for Thanksgiving and we won't be heading north for Christmas. It's definitely going to be a different kind of holiday season without traveling to NY. But something tells me Santa will find us at our house...and then we will happily welcome baby Keaton to the world! It's hard to believe it's just 10 weeks away!!

Here's some fun pics from our trip to Colorado!

19 Months Old

19 months old and everyday is something new and exciting! He's constantly on the move and always in to something! He's able to verbalize more of what he wants, but still gets very frustrated when he can't communicate what he's trying to say. He is a little sponge and picks up on everything. We've been saying our good night prayer for months now and just recently as we get closer to the end of the prayer, he starts saying Amen! Amen! It's so cute to hear his little voice say it!
We had Jensen's 18 month appointment - He was in the 97th percentile for weight and head measurements and off the chart in height! Yet again, a definite offspring of Joe :)

Loving life!

I bought Jensen a new fire truck today. He loves the truck, especially the ladder! We had been out for a morning of errands and just as we were getting home, he fell asleep with his new truck on his lap!

Best buddies hanging out in the front yard!

Pregnancy Update

October 5, 2010

Welcome to the 3rd trimester! How is that possible??? I can't believe we've already entered the final stage of this pregnancy! I know I've been terrible about updating the blog with belly pics....it's just hard to find the time to take pics this time around (Can you say 1 1/2 yr old???)!

I had my 28 wk appt yesterday and everything was great! I took my glucose test and will have those results back in the next few days. My weight gain is following the same pattern as when I was pregnant with Jensen. Although I feel like I've gained weight differently and I feel bigger at this point, the amount of weight I've gained is pretty much exactly the same as it was with Jensen. My BP was 100/60.

Our little Sesame is extremely active, just as Jensen was! In fact, she's nestled into the same little place Jensen did, constantly digging her feet under my right ribs.

We've got our checklist of house projects we're trying to complete. Jensen will be moving into his big boy room within the next month. The plan is to keep him in a crib for a little while longer though. Once he's moved, we can begin making some changes to the nursery to "girl it up!" I'll post pics once things are complete!

Here are some belly pics from the past few months!

Jensen Update

Growth, change, discovery....Everyday Jensen is recognizing something new and increasing his vocabulary! I guess these changes occur at every age, but for some reason it seems magnified at this stage!
He's enjoying playing outside and loves playing with Bailey! She is definitely his best buddy right now:)

Here's some recent pics:

Reading a book before bed

After Jensen's bath one night, we decided to put on his old bathrobe....You can see it's a little too small now!

Mohawk in the tub!

Eating chicken florentine with a fork!

Playing in the front yard!

Here's a cute little story....The other night we were playing with blocks. Jensen would get about 4-5 blocks stacked up and then they'd fall. When they'd fall, he'd say "Oh No!"
